Stickney Point Road crosses the Intracoastal Waterway to south Siesta Key on a drawbridge NOAA charts at about 18 feet of closed clearance. It sits on the narrow stretch of waterway linking Roberts Bay and the Phillippi Creek mouth with Little Sarasota Bay. Sarasota County's Christopher Wheeler Park has a hand launch beside it.
How to fish it
FWC's snook researchers single out bridges over the Intracoastal for big snook: anchor up-current and cast live bait to the pilings in the first hours of the outgoing tide, and fish the edges of the bridge lights at night. In the cooler months, fish shrimp, sand fleas or fiddler crabs tight to the structure for sheepshead and black drum. Kayakers from Christopher Wheeler Park can work the nearby shorelines around high tide.
