Pinellas County's deepest reef in FWC's database, in 97 to 100 feet of federal water about 27 nautical miles west of John's Pass and 29 from Egmont Key Light. FWC lists an 80-foot steel shrimp boat (2004, about 39 feet of relief), a 45-foot shrimp boat (2009), the 48-foot ferro-cement sailboat Silver Nail (2011), a 35-foot steel sailboat (2012) and five clusters of 10 Goliath reef balls each (2013), all within about 330 meters; Pinellas County lists the two boats as an 85-foot shrimp boat and a 50-foot steel trawler. At about 100 feet it's in the depth where UF/IFAS says most keeper red snapper live.
How to fish it
Find each wreck separately on the sounder, because the pieces are spread over a few hundred yards. Fish bottom baits (cut bait, squid or live pinfish on circle hooks) or slow-pitch jigs for snapper and grouper, and live baits in mid-water for amberjack.
